Cake artistry by Botanico cakes | Wedding cake designer brand photography
In both my brand photography and wedding photography lives, I’ve had the delight of photographing delicious looking cakes, but sometimes those cakes are also incredible works of art. So when I was contacted by Naomi from Botanico cakes to work with her to create new imagery for the re-brand she was undergoing with B By Nicki, I was super excited!
The aim of the shoot was to photograph a range of Naomi’s designs, and whilst I knew from our calls and from seeing her ideas in sketch form, when I arrived at her home studio (which is beautiful and plays to my love of interior design) I was blown away by the intricate details and the sheer level of talent this lady has.
Naomi works with couples who have a love of florals and art, and want this to translate into their celebration cake (not just weddings, any excuse for a party!) with the ability to wow their guests with a cake that is a true statement centre piece, not just something that is hidden in the dark corner of the room.
I really struggled to narrow down the images from this shoot (we were together for a full brand shoot, so a few hours of cake photography fun), but I’m simply not going to apologise for the gallery below, because when you see the amazing detail of these cakes, you will understand why I’m so in love with them.
Don’t forget – this is all sugar craft, no real flowers or berries…

Told you they were amazing didn’t I?! Which one is your favourite? I think for me, the orchid cake is my fave, but this does change every time I look at them. Do check out more of Naomi and her work via her Website | Instagram | Facebook.
Also, as an aside, the backdrop for this shoot was a beautifully hand painted creation by Sundari Ferris, and these are perfect for being able to create consistency for your images. I can highly recommend Sundari, she creates these bespoke to each client, ensuring it is the perfect representation of their brand aesthetic (and am excited that Emma Soulsby has had one commissioned, can’t wait to shoot with her again!)
Until next time,
PS – if you’re a cake designer and are wanting images that are mouthwatering and show off the undeniable skill you have, then I’d love to hear from you
